Mikes always has interesting specials, great service and ambiance. I am gluten free and had the California Burger Special Lettuce Wrapped. It was so good I stuffed myself with every bite! The Sweet Potato fries(may have cross contamination with the fryer) are some of the best I’ve ever had, crispy outside and fluffy inside.
Overall our first time in and will not be the last. Food was fresh and was prepared quickly by the time I realized it we were having lunch. Their salads are go good I cannot wait to try one of their pasta dishes.
Great sandwich wraps. Southwest chicken wrap had an awesome spicy ranch. Garlic fries are worth the up charge.
This was such a surprise find! We were traveling and just checked the map for anything nearby. We had such a great meal And even though it was after 8:00 p.m. amazingly attentive and helpful! The food was awesome too! The photo doesn't do it justice because I had eaten more than half of my steak salad before I remember to take a picture! The portions were also enough to take home some for lunch tomorrow!
Everything about this place is simply amazing! - The food is tasty perfection. The service is so thoughtfully attentive. We didn't need to ask for drink refills because they were definitely on top of everything! The place looked so busy when we walked in, but the owner promised to get is seated within 15 minutes. He's a man of his word. He is definitely a hands-on owner, doing practically everything in tandem with his conscientious staff. He made great recommendations, including the dessert, which honestly was the best dessert I've ever had in my entire life... the Churro Bread Pudding Bites. Simply incredibly delicious. I'm hoping he opens more locations, especially in my hometown of Turlock, Ca.
Went here for the first time for mine and husband’s 7 year anniversary. I had the prime rib off the specials and my husband had the French dip and we shared the calamari. Taylor our waitress went above and beyond and did everything to make our meal amazing. My steak wasn’t cooked to my liking the first time and she had it sent back and made sure everything was good with it after. The food we ordered was amazing and I was 100% recommend coming here and will definitely be coming back.
I love this place and highly recommend to everyone in or around Modesto. Easy access from the 99 highway. We walked right in at 5pm for a table of 5. Service was EXCELLENT!!! Everyone helpful, working together to ensure your dining experience is exceptional. The food was AMAZING from appetizers to our individual meals, portions are large and presentation is beautiful. The owner Kyle, checked on us and he is awesome and his personalization took this evening over the top. It was my birthday and he was very kind!!!!! My family and I will be back the bugers, sandwiches, wraps and the clam chowder DELICIOUS!!!! Go early, because the wait time does increase and it's worth every minute!!!!!
We, all 8 of us, ventured inside this establishment for a birthday dinner. We got to meet the owner, Mr. Kyle Raymond, who shows concern for each and every customer that crosses their threshold. Food was outstanding! Home Style comfort food at it's best. The roast beef was superb, the fried chicken was up there too. Burgers, as well as Philly cheese steak sandwiches. Our two grandkids enjoyed the kids chicken strips and cheese burger, which they actually ate. The atmosphere is down home and inviting. A beautiful fireplace along with old pictures of Modesto hung on the walls. Very clean inside along with professional staff makes this restaurant on the top of my list! Take our advice and give it a try, you won't be disappointed. ENJOY.
Excellent food and service!! Best crispy chicken salad I’ve ever had. So flavorful! My husband had the prime rib and he said it was delicious! The server brought us a sample of 2 different hard ciders to try while we waited. Both were delicious. Ambience was really nice too. The fireplace makes it feel very cozy. Highly recommend this place!!!

The food is consistently excellent , I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, the Chili Cheese Burger, and the Spicy Chicken Pasta, and every dish was flavorful and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we enjoyed the fried cheesecake and the warm brown cake , both were delicious! Their menu has something for everyone, from fresh salads and hearty sandwiches to daily seafood catches. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, perfect for anything from a casual dinner to a birthday or anniversary outing. The dress code is relaxed, and the full bar is a great bonus. What truly stands out is the fantastic service. The staff are attentive without being intrusive , they kept our table clean, cleared plates quickly, and made sure our drinks were always full. Honestly, probably some of the best servers in the valley! Even the manager personally checked in with guests to make sure everyone was happy. My parents are regulars and get treated fantastically, and return always with intentions of great delicious food! Highly recommend Mike’s Grillhouse if you’re looking for great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere.
